Jan is the founder of Transforming Leadership, a leadership collaborative for professionals that sees the need for business leaders to harness the full potential of their human capital, to engender an inspiring culture, led by an aligned top team and, collectively, to responsibly meet the needs of all stakeholders in an increasingly complex world.
Jan has done extensive training in coaching, facilitation and personal growth, and has extensive business and leadership experience that gives him in depth understanding of corporate issues. He spent three years as a strategy consultant with the Boston Consulting Group and 13 years in the buy-out and private equity industry, of which 9 years as co-founder and CEO of a large publicly quoted buy-out and restructuring group. For 10 years he was senior partner and co-owner of Iridium Partners, a corporate finance and transaction advice firm playing a leading role in the Finnish commercial real-estate arena.
Each of these experiences allowed him to recognise the importance of building effective teams and partnerships based on trusting, collaborative relationships where “straight talk”, openness, knowing self to understand others, shared mission, vision and shared values are critical. Cultural transformation processes and coaching provides the framework for him to share his experience, learning and insights and to contribute to creating conditions for the growth of “conscious” leadership and teams in the global corporate arena.
Jan has a BS(Econ) from the Swedish School of Economics in Helsinki and an MBA from IMD in Lausanne, Switzerland. In his spare time Jan enjoys skiing, bicycling, psycology, religious history and Vipassana meditation.
